General Hi

As you can probably guess from the title, I'm usually humble person.  This is the first real blog I've ever done, so I really hope it doesn't sound nOObish or crappy.
Exposing myself on the net is not something I would go out of the way of doing, I mean a post can be taken any certain way by a reader, usually the way unintended.  So anyway...a bit about me...

My name is Julie, but I'd like to change it to Sage, because I like that name better.
I live in a small American town that doesn't have a good public transportation system, and the people aren't always friendly.
I like cats over dogs and I have one named Whitney.  She's like a little fluffy sister to me, because she follows me around sometimes and often tries to get in my room.
I like to eat seafood; salmon, steamed crabs, and eel in sushi or grilled are my favorites.  Mussels, lobster, and scallops are also good.  I like to try new things, foodwise unless something smells really bad, it is a bit too spicy for my liking, or it has a high chance of making me sick.
I'm a big fan of anime and manga, and I also like Asian things in general like the folklore of the countries, the traditional garments, etc.  Some day I want to go to Japan, but not to just shop for anime stuff and buy block prints; I actually want to tour the temples and attend a tea ceremony or a festival.  China would be cool too, but I know that the relations between America and China aren't so good, and women aren't treated as well as men.  I'd still at least like to see the Great Wall and tour Hong Kong some day. Thailand also interests me as a place to visit as well.
As for my goal, I want to be a graphic artist.  I know it's a competitive field, but I really like art and computer graphics and I get really psyched when I'm making or designing something. Someday, what I really would like to be able to do is make art more available and possibly more useful to people.  When people make fine art, it can be big paintings that either go for a lot of money or the artist is having trouble selling because although it's a great painting, no one has room for it on their wall.  What I'd like to do is take these paintings or sketches, and either make them more portable (by putting them on coffee mugs, drink holders, mouse pads, drink coasters, or background images on cell phones) so that they are not only nice to look at, but they are also useful.  Some companies probably have done this, but I'd like to expand it and use some of my own work as well as lesser known artists.
Yeah, that's pretty much it for now.
Comment if you like, but please keep them nice, nothing nasty with lots of all caps and unjustified curses.
